The essay-documentary film is in development and received the “Gerd Ruge Grant” by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW in 2021.
THE CULTURE WARS – A DOCUMENTARY focuses on the contemporary online phenomenon of digital activism and new media and explores how the cultural struggles of the post-internet age are being carried out on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch and Twitter. The film sets out with its protagonists in search of the mechanisms of truth and opinion-forming in a globally networked present.
